This continuing education (CE) bundle combines two courses for Canadian financial professionals: “Canada’s Economy” and “2026 Professional Responsibility.” Together, they pair a comprehensive look at the forces shaping Canadian markets with an in-depth examination of the ethical and regulatory obligations advisors face in practice, while helping you meet both your general and professional responsibility CE requirements.

Canada’s Economy

Canada is one of the world’s most developed and resource-rich economies, but it also faces many unique challenges in a fast-changing global landscape. This course provides financial professionals with a comprehensive understanding of the structure, drivers, and long-term outlook of Canada’s economy.

Through a blend of historical context, macroeconomic analysis, and forward-looking perspectives, participants will explore Canada’s fiscal and monetary policy, investment environment, international trade relationships, and comparisons with other OECD nations. Special attention is given to emerging risks and opportunities, including demographic shifts, productivity concerns, and the transition to a lower-carbon economy.

By completing this course, participants will be equipped to interpret economic data more effectively, advise clients with greater confidence, and anticipate how global and domestic developments may impact Canadian markets.

2026 Professional Responsibility

This course explores the complex landscape of ethical and regulatory obligations faced by financial professionals in Canada. Through an in-depth case study, advisors examine the overlap and potential conflict between FP Canada's Standards of Professional Responsibility (including the Duty of Loyalty), the CIRO Rule 3402 suitability requirements, and CISRO's Principles of Conduct for Insurance Intermediaries, as well as provincial insurance codes of conduct.

This course is designed for Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®) professionals, Qualified Associate Financial Planner® (QAFP®) professionals, and advisors licensed with CIRO and the provincial insurance councils.
