Serving Senior Clients
The continuing education (CE) course “Serving Senior Clients” is designed for Canadian financial advisors, planners, and insurance professionals who work with older clients and their families. With Canada’s senior population growing rapidly, advisors must be prepared to address complex issues including dementia financial planning, long-term care strategies, government benefits, and estate considerations. This course provides practical tools and proven strategies to help you deliver meaningful, compliant advice to senior clients.
Through real-world examples, you’ll learn how to recognize early signs of cognitive decline, communicate effectively with seniors, and structure meetings that build trust and clarity. The course covers essential topics such as powers of attorney, supported decision-making agreements, critical illness and long-term care insurance, and the tax credits and government programs available to seniors and caregivers across Canada.
By the end of the course, you will be equipped to provide holistic financial planning for seniors, which includes balancing independence with protection, safeguarding client dignity, and reducing stress for families.
To receive CE credits for this course, you will need to obtain a mark of at least 9 out of 15 on the quiz.
